Dodgers vs Mets - Game 5 Preview & Picks
Do or die for the fellas. I was there last night and can confirm, the leadoff nuke from Ohtani was not great for the Citi faithful’s morale. But as you know, it’s not over until that fucking fat lady sings, so lets keep Lizzo locked up in my basement for another night.
I’ll be honest, all signs point to the Dodgers getting the job done tonight. They’ve been deleting baseballs, drawing walks at a borderline criminal rate (31 over four games…), and that idiot Flaherty is on the mound again, who just went 7IP of two hit ball against us on Sunday. But I don’t give a shit. If there’s any team that can make this interesting, it’s the Mets. The comeback kids, the miracle Mets, the fat cock bois. (might have made the last one up).
Mendoza switched things up with Winker at DH, McNiel at 2B, and Taylor back in Center. I think McNiel will be fired up to get the start. He’s a tough out. Doesn’t chase on the offspeed stuff, and will be huge to get some dudes on base before the top of the lineup. Let’s hope they can actually bring them in tonight. Winker also has good numbers off Flaherty (.375 with 2HR). Someone will need to step up, because although a short sample size, the Dodgers have good numbers off Peterson. Specifically Freddy, Will Smith, and Enrique.
Another night of strong wind blowing in from left center, but it’ll be a lot warmer tonight. Don’t see the Dodgers offense slowing down anytime soon, and the Mets just saw Flaherty a few days ago, can’t be worse than two hits. So I’ll follow the trend of overs hitting (7.5).
Bottom line is, like any good captain, I’ll go down with the ship if need be. Mets in 7.
Bets:
- Mets ML
- Over 7.5
- Jeff McNiel Hit / To record a run
- Francisco Lindor 2+ Bases / 1 RBI
