NFL Week 8 Picks

10/27/2024

Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans (1:00 PM ET)

This feels like a trap game. The Colts squeaked out a win vs. a very bad Dolphins team last week, while the Texans lost on a last second field goal at Green Bay. The public is going to be all over the Texans, but they haven’t swept Indy since 2016. The line opened at Texans -6, and sharps have driven it down to -4 / -4.5. Plus, the Colts are getting Buckner back, and the Texans offense doesn’t look the same without Nico Collins.

Bets: Colts +4.5 & ML / Under 46.5

ATD: Jonathan Taylor / Tank Dell

Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns (1:00 PM ET)

Jameis Winston has entered the chat. Listen, the Browns are a bad football team, but if anyone is going to give them some extra motivation, it's Jameis. They still have zero weapons, and Baltimore looks unstoppable right now, but 8.5 is a lot of points for a home divisional game. Likely staying away from this one.

Bets: Lean Browns +8.5 / Under 45.5

ATD: Rashod Bateman (Good Matchup vs Emerson Jr.) / David Njoku

Tennessee Titans @ Detroit Lions (1:00 PM ET)

Another big spread here. The Lions look like one of, if not the best team in the NFL. Jared Goff has been absolutely lights out, and although the Titans have a good defense, I think Goff continues to roll. Bottom line is I don’t trust Mason Rudolph on the road with no weapons.

Bets: Lions -11.5 / Under 44.5

ATD: David Montgomery / Amon-Ra St. Brown

Green Bay Packers @ Jacksonville Jaguars (1:00 PM ET)

The Jaguars just spent two weeks in London and now have to come home and play one of the best aerial attacks in football. The Jaguars have the worst pass defense in football, so I expect Jayden Reed to have a monster game. I’m not sold on the Packers defense either, so expect some points in this one.

Bets: Packers ML / Over 49.5

ATD: Jayden Reed* (2+) / Romeo Doubs / Evan Engram

Arizona Cardinals @ Miami Dolphins (1:00 PM ET)

I’m torn on this game. On one side, you have a pretty talented Cardinals team that has to travel cross country, on a short week, to play an early game. On the flip side, Tua makes his return after his 200th concussion. I’m sure the Dolphins are excited, especially Tyreek and Waddle, but you have to imagine some rust for Tua. Plus, there is expected to be heavy winds for this game, which should impact the passing game for both sides. Either way, I don’t think the Dolphins deserve to be 4.5 point favorites here.

Bets: Cardinals +4.5 & ML / Under 46.5 / 1H Under 23.5

ATD: James Connor / Tyreek Hill

New York Jets @ New England Patriots (1:00 PM ET)

I’m a Jets fan, so if they don’t win this one I'm done for the year. All reports indicate that this team has locked in this week. Adams gave a speech after the last game that was dubbed “The realest speech ever given in a locker room”. I’m going to lay the points here with the Jets, as I think the addition of Adams will help Wilson have a monster game by drawing Gonzo most of the game.

Bets: Jets -7 (Tease to -1) / Over 41.5 l

ATD: Garret Wilson / Breece Hall

Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1:00 PM ET

Interesting game for the NFC South. I’m interested to see who will step up for TB in the WR room with Evans and Godwin out. Luckily, the Bucs might not need to throw the ball all that often. The Falcons aren’t great against the run, and the Bucs have three backs that they can rotate. With that being said, I think it’ll take a few weeks to get on the same page with the new WRs.

Bets: Falcons ML / Under 46.5

ATD: Drake London / Cade Otton

Philadelphia Eagles @ Cincinnati Bengals (1:00 PM ET)

This should be a good game. I haven’t been impressed with the Eagles this year, and the Bengals are getting some key D-line pieces back, so they should be able to slightly limit Barkley. Chase and Higgens are going to be problematic for this Eagles secondary, as they rank dead last against WR1 in DVOA. AJ Brown should also have a good game, as he'll be covered by Taylor-Britt most of the game, who is four inches smaller than him.

Bets: Bengals ML / Over 48

ATD: Jamar Chase / AJ Brown

New Orleans Saints @ Los Angeles Chargers (4:05 PM ET)

Expect the Charger to be able to run the ball over the Saints here. I don’t love laying points against a team coming off a blowout loss, but Rattler is not that dude, even with Olave and Hill back. Look for JK Dobbins to eat on the ground, as well as Ladd McConkey in the slot, who has a great matchup vs. Taylor this week.

Bets: Lean Chargers -7 (Tease to -1) / Under 41.5

ATD: JK Dobbins / Ladd McConkey

Buffalo Bills @ Seattle Seahawks (4:05 PM ET)

This should be a good game as both teams have explosive offenses. Being without DK will be a big loss for the Seahawks, but I think Geno will still be able to put up points on a mediocre Bills defense.

Bets: Seahawks +3 / Over 45

ATD: James Cook / Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders (4:25 PM ET)

Minshew is starting for the Raiders, but I still think 9.5 points is a lot for a KC team still figuring things out on offense. KC will absolutely win this game, I just don’t trust them to cover, which Mahomes never does when he's a monster favorite.

Bets: Raiders +9.5 / Under 41.5

ATD: Kareem Hunt / Gardner Minshew

Carolina Panthers @ Denver Broncos (4:25 PM ET)

The Panthers rank 31st in DVOA against the run, so I expect the Broncos to lean on the run game heavily today. The Panthers O-line is beat up very badly. The Broncos should feast at getting to Andy Dalton. I can see them turning to Bryce Young at some point during this game. Look to buy the Broncos down in wong teaser.

Bets: Broncos Alt -9.5 / Under 41.5

ATD: Javonte Williams / Devaughn Vele (Slot matchup very good vs Smith-Wade)

Chicago Bears @ Washington Commanders (4:25 PM ET)

Love this game, the battle of the young QBs. Public is going to be all over Washington here, but I think the Bears defense is the difference maker in this one. Plus, Chicago should be able to move the ball through the air with ease against a very bad Washington secondary.

Bets: Bears ML / Over 45.5

ATD: Keenan Allen / Brian Robinson Jr.
